Book review
1. Sum It Up: Dade has never had a boyfriend, well his ‘in-the-closet’ best friend, Pablo, doesn’t count because Dade is just being used as an experiment. He doesn’t plan to find love anytime soon because most of the people at his school don’t’ like him and he’s gay, but isn’t out yet. He thinks that he’s hiding his sexuality but in reality everyone has their suspicions and are just waiting for him to com to his senses, his already a graduated from high school and plans to leave home soon after summer break is over. To his surprise he finds a boyfriend and he is not exactly someone that parents would approve of, but it’s the personality (and looks) that Dade falls for. Although summer is almost over Dade and Alex plan to make the best of what’s left. With Dade’s parents on the verge of splitting they have a couples vacation to try and amend their problems away from Dade’s last weeks in his home town Cedarville.
2. Star Gazing: I give it five stars because I completely fell in love with the characters, especially Alex, although his jobs is not attractive he sure knows how to have fun and seems like a really nice guy. He is smart and is funny and is selfless.
3. Cover Story: I give the cover a C its interesting I wouldn’t exactly say that is doesn’t go with the story but I also wouldn’t say that it does, I’m iffy on they cover.
4. Believe It or Not: The story is very believable, you have your outcasts, and the populars, drug dealers, clubs and fake ID’s etc. I could totally see this exact story happen to someone in the “real-world” anything is possible.
5. Lessons Learned: Although all you want is support and love from everyone around you, sometimes it’s hard to get that and other times that love and support wont last long because something is in the way, don’t be sad because its over , be happy because that was the best time you had with that person , so don’t take it for granted.
6. Preach or Ditch? I preach this book because it shows that every one is different and that all stereo-types are not necessarily true. Although it is gay-themed i think its still a fun book to read that will intrege all types of people and shows you that its whats inside the book that matters not the cover.
