I don’t think I have laughed so much or had so much fun while reading a book, than I have while I’ve been devouring The Chocolate Lovers Series by Tara Sivec. These books put the H in hysterical, and the top in over the top, and I can’t get enough of them. These books are the perfect blend of laugh out loud funny, sweet and heated moments, with a set of characters I can’t help but loving with all of my heart. These books are also so damn easy to read, and I don’t think a page went by where I wasn’t laughing or smirking or just loving every second with these characters.

They are the jolliest, most ridiculous, most fantastic characters, and to be back with them all in this book was nothing short of wonderful, and crazy, and fanfreakintastic.

Having absolutely loved Seduction and Snacks, I was definitely eager to be back in the world of this series with Claire and Carter, Gavin, and of course their distinctive friends that never failed to give me the most memorable moments. From the very first page of this book I was immediately swept back up with these characters, loving their antics and wondering where they would all end up as this story progressed. I have to tell you that I was not disappointed one bit with this book, and it felt so easy and so right to be back with all of these characters once again. There is just something about the dynamic they all share together that I can’t get enough of, and I am already looking forward to being back with them in the next book in this series.

The events of Futures and Frosting follows Claire and Carter and the rest of the gang as they all continue moving towards their futures together. With all of their friends settling down around them, Claire and Carter are definitely feeling the pressure, and that gets them both to thinking about what the future might mean for them. They both have a lot of thoughts on the topic, and this story allows you to see and experience the craziness that happens when those two start thinking about spending the rest of their lives with one another. Throw in a healthy dose of Gavin and his wonderful outrageousness, with a story full of love, heat, and feels, and you’ve got yourself the makings of one helluva book that gives you the best of these characters.

Over the course of this book you get the chance to spend time with all of the phenomenal characters of these books, and I for one could not get enough of being there with them all as they continued to show that there is never a dull moment with any of them. In Futures and Frosting you get to experience the hilarity of things like bachelor and bachelorette parties that go awry, what happens when a precocious 4 year old is interviewed by a national magazine, and the unforgettable panic both Claire and Carter share throughout this book as they think about their future together.

Let me spell it out for you, this book is hysterical and it will make you laugh your ass off. Just when you think these characters can’t say anything funnier, or think that they can’t do anything more ridiculous, they will. Just when you think that Drew won’t make you shake your head or burst out laughing even more, her will do or say something that will have you doubled over because you’re laughing so far. Tara Sivec brings that authentic and downright fantastic humor to these characters and this book in the best possible way, and what I love about it is that these characters just own it. They own their crazy, they own their ridiculousness, and they have no shame about it, and I love them all even more because of that. They aren’t afraid to let their freak flag fly, and that just makes them golden in my eyes.

I really loved being back with Claire and Carter in this book and seeing where their relationship would take them next. The events of this book picks up a couple of months after the events of the previous book, and shows how these two are acclimating to living together and moving forward. Through every page of this book you have no doubt that those two love one another so much, and through this story the two of them try to figure out where that love will take them next. What I loved about this book was that it felt like the next step. It felt right and natural, and Claire and Carter charger through it all in only a way that they could, with plenty of ridiculousness and feeling to have you loving them every step of the way. Over the course of this story these two definitely face a few hurdles and moments that make them think about what they really want, and the two of them keep trying and working through it all in order to be together.

Tara Sivec gives you the perfect romantic comedy read in this book, and shows what it truly means to find your ridiculous counterpart that you can’t get enough of, and that you love with all of your heart. I absolutely loved getting to be back in the distinct kind of love that Carter and Claire shared, and I loved getting to be there as they faced the future and what it brought together. This book certainly had a bit of nostalgia to it too with what happens in it, and I pretty much ate up every moment I read in it.

Futures and Frosting is about what happens next. It’s about facing the future, seeing what you want and need, and figuring it all out, even if it means there are some utterly hysterical moments along the way. This story gives you a couple you will fall even more in love with, and shows you the memorable moments that ensue when they decide what comes next. This book is fun, sweet, and full of distinctive charm and antics that will have your cheeks hurting from laughing in no time. I loved every bit of this story, and being back with all of these fantastic characters made me realize again and again why I have been enjoying this series so much.

I am telling you, if you haven’t read this series you need to. These books are well written, the characters are unforgettable, and the moments they all share together in their stories will give you one seriously enjoyable read. There is nothing you won’t love, and that along with everything else makes this book and the others in this series so so good!
